I am going to be buying a B52 Kit from DIY4x but the only problem is I don't know what year my frame is the guy said it has something to do with the bolt patten on the old hanger and the body mount. I was hoping you guys could help here so i know what year to order it for. Here are some pictures. Thanks

73-80 as you have in the last pic a rounded front horn style. not the slash cut 81-87-91 style.

pic # 1-2 dont help at all.

but pic #3 i can just tell.

any pictures of the front frame horns? if they are rounded (which it looks like they are) then its a 73-83 and if they aren't rounded and look like they were just cut off, then its an 84-87 i believe. if im wrong im sure somebody will correct me

brett, i thought the rounded frame horns ran till 83? i know the old style parking brake ran till 83 and i thought they redesigned the frames when the redesigned the parking brake..

Do you need pictures of where the front bumper mounts?
but the B-52 kits go from 73-80 and 81-87.

The reason why i took the first 2 pictures is cause thats what i thought was differnt between the two. The guy at DIY4x said that the holes for the bracket are alot different between the years and the body mount is taller on one.

i must be wrong then. i originally thought it was 73-80 and 81-87 but i remembered they ran the old parking brake style to 83 and i didn't think they changed the frame till 84. pics of the frame horns might help.

It's the early style, and yes, I can tell by the first 2 pics. Your brackets aren't all broken like mine were though. I bought a b52 kit just to replace all the broken stock brackets, and I wasn't even doing a 52" swap.

there we are but i am thinking its a 73 to 80 myself i thought i remember that guy sad it was a 79 when i bought it. Just want to be safe then sorry

Definately is 73-80 because of the frame horn as was already said. The front bumper on these frames bolted directly to the frame (along with some otrher support brackets) and the 81-87 (91) had brackets that bolted to the frame then the bumper bolted to the brackets.

my frame was stamped on the outside of the frame month day and year, if you used a wire wheel you could find out for positive it should be in the straight part of the frame below the b pillar.
