I recently took my 465-205 out of my 80 k10,for a auto,hoping that the 205 would bolt up behind a 350,or 400,without much mods,seems i was wrong,anybody know what year trucks came with a auto and 205 transfercase,to bolt up to my sbc,i have everything else,cooler,shifter,does anyone want to buy my 465-205 setup,or trade,i live in cheyenne,the stuff works good,we just want a auto,thanks

Think all you need is an adapter plate between the tranny and the 205. I would suggest finding one at a junkyard or ebay or something. Worst case scenario, you could go through this guys:

I was told the splines on the 205 want match up with the turbo400,wandering if it is the same for a turbo 350,or will a 350 match up

If the splines don't match there are a couple of options: change the shaft so they do match or find a junkyard or source that has the one that will bolt up.

If the 465/205 combo is from a 1980 truck it'll have the 10 spline input.. won't match up to either the th350(27 spline) or the th400(32 spline). It would be easier just to find a th350/205 combo than it would be to swap shafts, and the 32 spline NP205 is harder to find.

thanks for the info,you have any idea what year to look for that combo in,boyh my trucks have 465-205 combos,trying to get this one done for my wife,gotta be a auto though,she has a hard time on the inclines with a standard,give me an idea of what year that has a auto-205,this friday i'll start looking,thanks

TH350/205's are pretty common in the late 60's up to 1972 K series trucks.
