What year?

Ok, hear me out, I want to know what a new car from the 50s or '60s smelled like.
I've been in plenty of classic cars that have that old car smell. Of course it's been an acquired scent from an accumulation of the years, but what about those same cars fresh from the factory?
I can only say that when I restored my Vette, it had the new upholstery smell from the new carpet and later the new seat covers, but the dash, and door panels were simply cleaned as they were in great condtion, and other interior trim was repainted. It had the mixed smell of paint, and new carpet and vinyl, especially in the sun, but it faded once the rubber smoke infiltrated the cabin multiple times.

After rereading BENT’s original question I saw that he asked either “drive or test drive”.
My original answer was a 1967 L-88 Corvette as a wild test drive ( and that still and will always stand ) but my selection for a car to go back in time and actually drive, smell, enjoy and take it all in would be a 1967 Mustang GT390-4V 4-spd just like the one below.
Not to modify at all - just drive from day one and enjoy as is.
I know it’s not any kind of ultimate ride but I’d be content with it as my only classic choice.
