starting in 81 (i beleive), its when they chenged the front clip, they also changed the front frame horns.

Yep, those fit the '81-'91 K- and V-series trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
Not real sure on that question. I think it had more to do with the assembly line...where the truck was produced and what line it was made on, too.

Not all the trucks had them. I do believe it was an option if such item was desired, but again like I said, if it was not asked for on the option list, the truck could have came out with them regardless. Just one of those little items that some buyers don't pay attention to I guess.
 
I'm giving the members of our local club a shot at them first. If someone local doesn't bite on them I'll put a ad in the for sale forum next. I got these 10 years or so thinking I'd try and make them work on my 1st gen. But I traded it for my '73 and pulled the hooks out of the garage to mount yesterday and found they didn't match up to the holes in a '73s frame. Found the right ones today and now I don't need these. Thought about using them on the back but I don't see how I could make them work there. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
