I am doing a frame up resto on my 72 blazer. The drivelines were completely torn apart, dipped, powder coated, and new gears ring pinion seals etc. I dropped off both drivelines at a local repair shop to have them put them back together with all of the new parts complete with brakes and everything. What would you think this would cost? They quoted me 500.00 but that seems high to me, of course I could be wrong just curious what people with more experience think? Thanks in advance.

If you hand them 2 housings and a box of parts, that sounds pretty good. Are they setting up the gears for you? If so, then yeah, that sounds just about right.

I think a typical gear swap runs between $150 - $200 depending on where you live.....so if you found someone willing to install and setup gears PLUS all the seals and bearings, etc. for $500, I think you did pretty well.

Any recent pics of the resto???

1st Gen restoration pics are like heroin...:D
