I had these springs made by alcan an designed by Ord. And when I measured I don't think about the wieght of drive train. I'm worried after getting the motor, trans, 205/203 doubler, winch and trail gear. That the springs will hit the frame and there as far forward as they will go. I mite just take a hit and sell them. There 8" lift, 50" long and with moving the axle fwd 3.5" I believe.

my first question is who let you spec springs custom made with no driveline info added in ?

better recheck with ether one of them first and make sure the info wasn't already inputed when the springs were built.

all this is usless if you changed plans after springs were made.

Oh they took my info. I just measured for them with no wieght in truck and I mite have used the original hanger location. And I think I did change plans without realizing it. But I could be just being paranoid too that's why I'm looking for second opinions

Personally, I wouldn't make any decisions until you have weight on them. At that time you can make an educated decision as to the appropriate course of action.

There are some options if it is a problem when you get there.

What options would there be? I got the hanger welded on the inside of frame. And its all the way forward on the bumper.

You could move the shackle eye hanger further back on the frame. I wouldn't do that yet though.

Id really prefer not to do that lol I'd sell them before I had to do that. I already boxed the Frame and welded the eye of hanger to frame. And if I could get what I'm asking I'll just get some 52s or buy factory length tuff country's.
Install your gear and we will go from there.
Don't panic too much just yet.
I still got finish boxing the frame and Mount shocks. I'm probly goin to try to set the motor in and and get the Buddy's to stand on the front and see where it sets and go from there.

I would agree with the others put the drivetrain in and ssee then what happens. I don't know how soft they are, but I can tell you that I have 6 inch tuff country's on mine and I only wish they compressed enough to worry about hitting the frame. My shackles are way shorter than yours with only about 1 and 1/2 inches or less between the frame and the spring eye, There are no indications that it has ever hit the frame in the 7 years I have been running it. And I have done some stupid stuff with it where it should have. :doah: My shackles are almost vertically straight just a little angled toward the back, maybe 5 degrees.

Yea I'm goin to wait and see. Would it be safe to run 10* shims? My caster is at 16* positive and from what I read, its not a good idea to use over 8* shims. And I'm not sure if I need to get a custom tie rod bent to the steering. ?
