Taking a look tomorrow :D All goes well she'll be mine within a week...

From reading I gather these have the TBI 5.7L/4L80E/NP241?

What's the typical gear ratio? Will they have it stamped somewhere(like the tag on the fender in my '84)?

the ratio ought to be on the rpo code list in the glove box. i believe later ones are just codes. search around here and print them out for a reference when you go check it out.

Well I didn't snag the RPO codes :o The owner thinks it has 3.73's in it..

Got to look at it and drive it today.. very, very clean. Drives very nice and everything is nice and tight. It needs a good detail job under the hood since he hasn't driven it much it's gotten dirty but everything is DRY. No leaks at all. According to the paperwork, the trany was replaced at 53K by the dealer because the original owner towed in OD. Interesting enough it was covered under warranty. Also has a new alternator.

Tires are brand new as are the brakes all round. The interior is spotless, no saggy head liner. No rust at all either(the truck has been local it's entire life). Everything works though the power windows are a bit sluggish.

The only negative issue I could find was it had a slight dog smell inside :haha: and it has auto hubs.. how do those work anyways? Same as the ones in my Ranger(which are kinda crappy)?

awful. replace them with manuals. youll be happy you did. what are your overall plans for the nice truck like that?

Daily driver for now.. possibly more later :o It might get a shackle flip and 33's down the road but not for a long time(going to finish building the blazer first). I'm hoping to have it by the end of this week but who knows.. price is $3500 and seems very fair for the low miles and how clean it is.. Did I mention has 3" single exhaust? :D

On the positive side I might be progressing a lot quicker than anticipated on my Blazer.. odds are in my favor in getting a new job with a lot more hours(and a better, more consistent schedule) and a 50% increase in pay :D

Only way that thing could be any better is a 6.2L and manual windows and door locks...but that's just me.
If you don't buy it we'll come smack you.

Basically the same truck i bought, cept mine has closer to 199k on it.

will be 3.73's or 4.10's.

Not sure why towing in OD killed that trans.....you are supposed to be able to tow in OD on the 4l80e. You will LOVE that trans. Mine rocks. Shifts so solid and firm. And gets close to 15mpg freeway :)

With that low mileage, definitely a deal. I paid $2300 for mine, with high mileage body and rebuilt motor/trans at some point.

Go snag it, and take more pics
