Even thou my 91 K5 runs great I've been thinking about doing the newer engine swap, hell why not changing out all the other parts.

As far as i know the engine and trans have never been touched (160k miles ) and it actually runs great but the thought of an extra 200 horses sounds even better,

just curious if there is even a market for the package tbi and all.

Someone out tbere is looking for those parts for a project. Throttle body 350s are great for rock crawlers. Price is subjective honestly. I would think a solid 700r4 would be worth 3-400 maybe double that for the combo. As I said, its whatever someone is willing to pay based on the availability in your area.

Look at the classifieds section on the site and see what comparable items sold for. Same for eBay and Craigslist. Remember, asking price and what it sells for are two different things. It depends a lot on your area and whether you can attract the right buyer for your setup. I'd say put it out there for 800-1000 and see what you get. If you don't get any bites, lower the price a little.

Just figure with that combo you'll get pennies back on the dollar you spent for an LS block/4L65E combo. Meaning, probably will cost at least $5K for the newer components installed and completed, and probably won't get more than $500 for the used combo coming out. A 160K 700R4 is not worth much at all IMHO.

You could opt to reuse the 700R4 behind a new LS engine, but it will likely get shredded in no time and I wouldn't spend any money on one that is done for, I would go with a 4L65E. That's coming from someone that has a 6.0 in front of a built 700R4. I used it because mine isn't stock and has like 20K on it. But, I would much prefer to have a 65E to where the computer controls shift points and lock up. I had the 65E plug added to my LS engine harness because I fully expect my 700 to take a dump sooner than later, and will go back in with a 65E and a reflash.
