If it's a 3/4-ton, it's probably a 10-bolt. If it's a 1-ton, it's a D60.

Easiest way to tell is to see if it has king pins (D60) or ball joints (D44, 10-bolt)

A good D60 is worth from $1000-$1500. Add another couple hundred for a good 14bff.
A good front D44 is worth about the same as a 14bff.

You can tell a D60 front by King pins rather than ball joints, the front webbing to the right of the difff cover will say 60F. Around these parts aD60 front goes for around $1000.00-$1200.00. If it is only a 3/4 ton 8 lug D44 or even a 8 lug 10 bolt it's only worth about $150.00-$300.00 max, the higher side if it has the gears you need.

I paid $250 for mine... wouldv'e paid less if I pulled it out myself but bad timing (on the way to work) and didn't have tools and extra people. So ended up paying more to have the junkyard guys pull it out for me and load it up the next day..... it was in pretty decent shape, no rust but covered in grime due to the fact it stayed under a 3/4 ton '83 Chevy Cheyenne pick up.
I originally wanted only the axle tubes and housing so I can do a complete rebuild but the owner wanted the whole axle gone so I didn't bother to put in a fight for less $$$$$$$.

without much luck locally, i paid just shy of $1200 shipped for a SFW gm 60 with 4.56's from a vendor on pirate. more than i wanted to pay but...meh...

I was talking about the 14BFF by the way.... Forgot to add that...

phew! i was gettin real jealous for a second there lol.

i bought a fully running 1 ton for $500.... d60 front and 14bolt rear... 4.10's though...... but yeah that was a score.. it was lifted too 7" and 38's...

after taking all the parts I needed I gather I paid about $125 for the front axle...!!!!!

anyway... d60 fronts are expensive here too... $500-$900 even for a dually and needs rebuilding.... however the 14bolt ff is so cheap... on junkyard around here said $38 for one.... and dont care what gears are in it!!!!!!!!!

That's a rusty-ass 10-bolt. I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred for both axles on that truck.
