I have a chance to get one. It's 118x59". What's something like this go for?

depends what it is worth to you.

And if you have the space for it.

My dad has one of these at his shop simular to that. hardly gets used. 99% of the time they just use one of the other 4 tables with a 1in thick top and tac whatever to it.

I have no clue but if its less than 300 bucks buy me the other one and I will come get it :D:D:D:D:D:D

I think its alot more than 300 bucks but auctions you never know.

I would say new it would be 2 bills easy

I've never seen one like that either. All the fab tables in any shop I've been at, are 4x8 sheets of 1" plate. like was mentioned before. even those the steel alone is a big chunk of change. and moving them is a whole nother adventure if you don't have the right equipment.

Fab tables can get pricey. A lot depends on what type, what material, and how thick the top is.
And, you might want to check on the weight. That one does not look as heavy as some I have seen.
You get one that is 4X8 2 inch thick cast iron, its pretty impressive. And very expensive, since the surface is scraped flat for precision work.

You might be sorry you got one, unless some of that tooling comes with it. Fab tables are like expensive tool boxes.
Real pretty, very useful, but only after you put a few thousand dollars worth of tools in it.
As is, all you will have is a super strong steel table with holes.
After you buy all the clamps, stops, vices, and other tools to fit the holes, then its useful.

Don't get me wrong, if its not too heavy for you to handle, and the price is good, grab it.
Even if you never get the tooling, its still a nice work surface. As long as you are not working on watch parts............

I've never actually seen one with the round holes in person. They are common, but most of the ones I have worked around, have had slots like the table of a milling machine, and used the same clamps and tooling it used.

I still have mixed feelings about the tables out there to bolt stuff down to. And honestly the only advantage a metal table has over some of the wooden frame, synthetic topped tables when it comes to bumpers and frames a such is that you can strap/tack your work to the metal table when something moving .015 of an inch is important during welding.

That's bad ass. Your wife hasn't banned you from the auctions yet.

Not yet. Technically, I haven't had to purchase anything from the auctions yet. Everyone seems to think the items deserve new pricing...I don't.

EDIT: Ok, I did buy the trailer from auction but that's all..I swear

Glad it doesn't end until Wednesday

Soooo, I guess that means you are getting 3????

Seriously though, that sounds very high unless all the tooling comes with it, or its a bid on multiple units.
Or maybe it includes shipping.........

I get a catalog from the Surplus Center, http://www.surpluscenter.com/home.asp
And sometimes order something from them.
About a year ago, I saw a fantastic workbench for sale. Steel with some drawers in front, and, if I remember right, close to 100 pigeon holes in a back plane above the table.

It would be great for electronics work. I could keep parts in the back plane, and just reach up and select what ever I needed. The table its self is conductive, so there would be no static problems.
Best of all, I think the price was about $150 or so.
I needed some other odds and ends, so I ordered it and the other stuff.

Got a notice that my other stuff was shipping, but the table was going to be backordered for a week or so.
So, I had the option of canceling that part of my order.
Naturally I was not going to do that, since I wanted that table. Then I noticed the final price at the bottom.

With shipping and handling, I think it came to about $600......I almost hurt myself hitting the cancel button.........

I don't know what the deal with that was. I have bought stuff from that outfit before and since and never ran into shipping charges like that.

Unless I'm missing something, it sounds way too high for one of those tables.

Actually, I'm not high bidder on any of them right now. They do come with Hold Down Accessories and Clamps though. High bid on all 3 are $300. betting it will be MUCH more than that on Wednesday.
These are also local

The same guy bought all 3 of them. They went for $5900, 6800, and $6900. Much more than I was willing to spend

This was all that was advertised:

"118" x 59" Fab Table With Extension Wings, Hold Down Accessories and Clamps"
