Putting in my 14 bolt and I need u bolts. So I may as well lower it from the four inch block to 2 1/2 inch blocks were I want it. Yeah someday I'll do a shackle flip... What's a good set to get? The steel four inch, pinion angled set I have is good but I don't know who made it?

No block is best. :D Just about every block i've seen are cast iron and have the taper built into them. Years ago i think i had bought either Pro Comp or Rancho.

There are several names that make them. Just stay away from anything thats aluminum or tubing. Look for cast iron blocks. And tapered ones if you want to improve your driveshaft angles.

Rancho
Pro-Comp
Superlift
Skyjacker
Trailmaster
Tuff Country
Rough Country

Those are about the major name brands I can think of off the top of my head.

OK so it's easy to get a good block. So I call Shucks and they have them in stock. Aluminum!!!

There was also aluminum shims under these four inch blocks. First time I have removed aluminum shims that were in one piece.

Should I turn over the overload spring?

Never ask your local parts store for blocks they have in stock or get thru the cheap catalog. You gotta ask for a name brand. If they can order the name brand, then let them order it for you. You'd be better off ordering online like thru Summit Racing which is where I get a lot of my aftermarket goodies. Their prices are better than your local Pep Girls.

You might check for the "Scratch and Dent" store on eBay. That's where Superlift offloads stuff with minor cosmetic flaws. It's hit or miss on what's available at any given time, but the things I've gotten have been basically perfect and the prices unbeatable. Otherwise just go to Summit and you'll probably have them tomorrow.
