What's a good price?

Re: What\'s a good price?

Fred, I agree with you.
I think the new crossfire amps are pretty decent for the price, lightning audio has really good prices and are OK, coustic makes an OK sub that handles monster power for a cheaper price, I owned JL audio 10w0's for a while and they sound great and hit hard for what they are and are about $100 bucks a sub(not bad), Rockford Fosgate makes a lot of power but is kind of dirty sounding. I would stay away from
Sony and MTX.

Some of the high end stuff is Audiobahn(they make some crazy stuff), JL audio, Arc audio, Rainbow(killer highs), Zapco, and pheonix gold. A lot of the higher end products are pretty expensive especially rainbow and audiobahn but JL makes some really great stuff that runs with the best for a little less money, Audiobahn's amps are crazy looking with the chrome flames and guages but pretty pricy, Arc Audio and Zapco(same companies) make some really powerful and clean amps for a decent price also. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
Bottom line is that you can build a nice powerfull system with some of the economy lines and companies which is plenty for the avearge joe but the more expensive stuff really does have a clearer sound, tighter, crystal clear, More power output, better cooling system under stress, etc etc... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Paul,

As someone who doesn't know much about sound systems, it would be much more helpful to me if you or anyone else would state facts as to why one brand is better than the other. All of the mindless dribble back and forth about who thinks what accomplishes nothing other than waste bandwidth.

I have a local friend who is sold on Kapa perfects and Autotek amps, it sounds good, but is it any better or worse than some of the other brands discussed? Obviously the "good stuff," will cost more and won't be found in Wal*Mart, but as always with some "good stuff," you will pay for the name and not the product. Whether it be electronics, car parts, guns, etc., there are products out there that will do a very good job and not break the bank.

[/ QUOTE ] I try posting links to the sites, but as far as facts compairing one to another, all I can do is give honest opinions on personal experences. The amps and subs / speakers I've heard in person. I've listoned to alot and I've stated the ones I like the best. Recently, I've been quite impressed with the Kicker solobaric (Square subwoofer). /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
