Whats a rolling chassis worth?

I've been trying to sell my K5 and I got a call from a guy that was only interested in the rolling chassis(basically everything minus engine, trans, and transfercase). I'm not really sure what I could get for this thing as parts, but probably less than my asking price of $1500. Knowing I'm in the Chicago area and this isn't a rust free truck, does anyone think I could get anywhere near what I want for this thing as parts?

What year K5 with what motor, trans, t-case etc.?

If it's a stock K5, (10 bolts, 208, etc) then probbaly not.

BUT prices vary by region. I just bought a complete, great condition, running, driving '87 K5 with no rust or damage (factory bad paint of course) for $2k, as an example.

in nj that would go for about 700-800 maybe..dependant on body condition and interior. besides that you may be able to get 1k out of it if evreything else is okay condition..

ib ought my truck with a abd motor (and trans unknowlingly) for 1250 but that is with 35 turd birds, 350,700r4,208 and d44 and 10 bolt rear. im thinking 1k is your best tho i wouldn't go lower then 750-800ish

Sorry, forgot it wasn't in my sig anymore. 85 with 305/700r4/208, all stock. I could probably get 200 for the engine and trans, so it looks like I might get close but not close enough. Thanks for the help

yeah 200-250 thats about it with motor and trans, i can buy your tailshaft housing ill take that off your hands
