What\'s happening to my topper?

In the last few months, I've noticed that the grooves in my topper have been shedding whatever the factory used to fill them in. I'm talking about the filler that was applied to the seams on the topper. It's peeling off and out, and looks really dry. Has anyone had a similar problem, and, if so, what kind of filler have you used to fill the seam grooves back up with?

Mine did the same thing . Clean them up and go to a auto paint store and get some 3M gutter seam sealer . It's flexible and hard will last quite awhile .

Does the stuff come in black, or do you have to repaint it? And on that note, will it withstand the local carwash? I'm worried about blasting it out once I apply it.

It's gray and it will stand up to car washes . It stays flexible and makes great seam sealer .

The only problem is my top is black. Do you know what the factory used when they filled in the grooves?

I'm not sure about waht the factory used . another thought would be silicone . it comes in black and will hold up to anything .

Some people use fiberglass ressin to repair their seams to complete the smooth look. When I rework my shell that is how I am going to do mine.
