whats in your buget

so i was sittin here thinking about how much i have into my k5 and my truck and i dont realy know how to figure in things i already had (such as spare parts) do you figure them in or not?

anyway without the stuff i already had i figure im into my k5 about $2k and my truck about $1800 that seams like a fair buget but it could go up from there and as far as spare parts most the stuff i get is in the form aof a whole truck i take the good stuff and sell off or trade or give the rest away so its hard to realy figure in say a 4 core radiator from a truck i paid a few hundred bucks for

my girlfriend tells me to spend more money on my truck...she says its too redneck...it has more mud on the inside then there is on the outside. no stereo. tires are too small. no internals for the front axle, so no 4wd. the list goes on. its just getting me around until i get my 1 tons built.

I was taking my gf on dates every weekend and now I got the burban, it doesn't happpen much anymore. I think she hates my truck. Heck, my neighbor's wife threw a brick through the window of his Chevy with 10 inches of lift. sux for him. i re evaluated my figures by used prices on the stuff i already had and heres the totals
K5=$3000
K20=$2500
this includes the purchase prices i figure that is awesome for 2 dependable rigs (K5 still needs put together ) hell i seen bone stock late 80's K5's go for $5500 so i have to pat myself on the back and cheer CHEAP TRUCKS RULE!

Geeeez, I couldnt get $3k for my truck if I wanted to and I've got more then 3 times that in it. Another $5-7k and it'll be where I want it, doh. Then it might be worth $4k. hahaha yeah right.

I figured out how much I have spent on my truck since I bought it in '99. As of last summer was around $35K but that includes making it a show/pretty truck and then 6 axle swaps/rebuilds, 4 engines, 5 trannys, etc, etc, etc. Not included in that price is stuff I have sold though such as old axles that I have swapped out and engines, etc. Probably about $10-15k with whats in it right now. Good thing I'm not married.... but my 3 kids (Chevy, Dodge, and Polaris) do take alot of my money...

Who cares how much you put into it if it runs good and wheels good thats all that matters but on the matter of the cheap trucks I have a freind who bought a 80 something ramcharger with a 8" lift but open sold the bald 38s welded the rear end bought some used 39.5 IROKs has a total of $1350 into the truck it goes almost everywhere my blazer ( which has cost me about the same if you add a zero) will go.
