What's it weigh?

Anybody have any idea how much a standard 8ft bed and tailgate weigh?

IIRC, about 500 lbs? Maybe a bit more?
I know my rusted out POS one was 400, so one with good metal should be about 500.

I know it's a lot more than a Ford bed.

Wow I never would have guessed that much. My old s-10 bed only weighed 175, but that was without the tailgate. Hmmmmm

Ummm... what year truck are we talking about, here? The weight I gave was 73-87. 88-up is lighter.

Actually it's an, um, uh, '90 dodge. I found this forum when I was looking for a 1 ton 4x4 chevy and wound up buying a '90 cummins. I still lurk and read here cause I like this forum better than any of the dodge 4x4 forums I've found. I found a nice cummins forum, but they're light on 4x4 stuff.
