whats it worth 1979 pickup

I have a place in upstste NY ive been going up there all summer and seeing the same truck on the side of the road for sale. I finialy stoped this weekend to take a quick look at it. it was a 1979 chevy pickup, 350, automatic, standered cab, 4x4, longbed, manuial locks/windows, no a/c. the cabfloors looked solid from the underneath it needed cab cornres, fenders, a hood, wheel wells, and a bed. I dont know if it runs of not im sure it does when i was taking down the phone number I looked at the price on the for sale sticker and it was $2,500. How much can this thing really be worth

All depends on the area. Sounds about right for around here. Which is why I've always had k5s people want to much for pick up trucks. Realisticly I would think 1000

Half ton? I wouldn't pay a dime over $500 for it.

My buddy just picked up a similar condition 77 3/4 ton for $300 with a plow.

I am in a way different area than you but I couldn't sell an 86 in way better shape that ran great for 700 around here
