What's laying around in my yard...

Everyone needs at least one rusty square body Burb sitting in the yard..:doah:
I think I have the near twin to you first picture..is it a diesel ?..hood ornament looks like the 6.2 one..

Also have some other relics from my past still here too..dirty from sitting under trees..

Seems no one makes the headlight bezels for a round eye G-10 ,I can only find ones for single square headlamps..:(...cheesy brittle plastic is crumbling and are duct taped together..the grille in it is from a '78,but its an '81 G-10..(I found out a square body pickup grille also fits ,and I have a '73 K10 grille and a '74 GMC one with a 454 emblem)..

I wanted to resurrect this van and use it on the street this year, but covid 19 struck and messed those plans all up..(registry of motor vehicles still not up & running "normally" yet.)..it runs good, but the TH350C transmission didn't like having a 17 year "nap",it still moves but is sluggish going in gear..a flush & filter may bring it back..
I have a spare one for it though,if it ends up being NG..despite being parked since 2004,its undersides are still in pretty decent condition,I was surprised it didn't rot bad..

My late parents '93 Caravan, with 94K original miles..sat since 2013,not really work fixing up now,but still runs good..
Hate to send it to the crusher or pick & pull, but I'll be lucky if I can fix up even one vehicle now..

I'm diggin the '80 Jimmy, great color and looks really clean.

No it's not a 6.2 I wish... it has a 350tbi that just started knocking a rod...

It's a toss up which is worse--a knocking 350,or a 6.2 that might spit the crank without warning..I think I'd trust the knocking 350 more.....

The 6.2 in my Burb runs "ok" but has 155K on it and I notice it smokes out of the drivers side exhaust some,it may have a bad injector or maybe a cylinder got washed--cant do a compression test,my gauge stops at 180 psi.....its a bitch to get started after letting it sit, even on a hot day too..I've put some glow plugs in it (the easier ones to get at,not all of them!),and that helped a little, but I think the engine is tired ,and that makes it hard to start..

I've had to take the injector pump top lid off and free up the fuel solenoid before it would start last year,I try not to let it sit too long between when I last started it,but its probably been at least 8 months since I last had it going...forgot to write it down,I think it was an unusually warm day in January I had it running last time....still had about 1/8th of a tank in it from late 2009 when I got it ,I have added 5 gallons of fresh fuel since..but didn't start it yet..

The 700R4 in it I was told loses reverse after awhile,so far its worked in the driveway to move it around, but I'd have to remedy that if I were to put it back on the road...

The thing was practically mint when I got it rust wise,it came from WA state--the frame and underside still looks really good, but the rockers are completely gone on the drivers side now, other side probably isn't much better--floors were perfect when I got it--but probably aren't now..good thing I didn't pay much for it,its bad enough I kick myself for not getting it roadworthy right away when I got it..:doah:..
