What's leaking on the front of my 6.2L?

It *might* be missing a nut,but I'd be sure its not just a unused stud in the bracket ,no sense in putting a not on it if it aint holding anything--does the bracket go right against the block there,or could it have a rivet like stud made into it,that dont go into the block??..if it goes into the block I'd say yes,a nut is definately missing....

Well, I yerked on the alt bracket quite a bit and no flexing. I will try and find a nut for it, looks like it goes to the block.

As for the leak...the Aluma Seal seems to have done it. Sunday I jammed the lower radiator hose as far up on the pump as it would go, tightened it back down, and that helped but it still leaked a little. Dumped most of a tube of the Aluma Seal in and viola, no leaky. Crossing my fingers.

I've had several bad comments about me doing this...but everyone seemed to describe the Bars Leak goo...

I myself dont like leak stops for the coolant system, I refuse to use them since they could, if they work at all, mask a more serious problem.

Anyway, did you get a chance to check your weep hole on the water pump?

Just a thought...

It wasn't coming out of the weep hole. It was coming out between the plate and the block in that spot I put the pictures up of.

For better or worse the stop leak aluminum powder stuff has stopped the leak with no apparent ill effects after 8 months.
