wanting to change over (for a good friend of mine), from a shot 700r4, to a 4spd

i know the obvious, a 4spd tranny, and the full pedal set up, maybe the bellhousing...anything else i'm not thinkin of? going in a 4x4 87 tbi

going to need all this i guess....damn 700's anyways:mad:

If you get an SM465/NP208 combo, it should be the same length as a TH700R4, so your shafts should swap. I just did this in my 1988 V10 Suburban. I bought a 1985 K10 for $500 from the junkyard, and just swapped everything over. My stock driveshafts worked just fine.

I have a few pictures of it in here. Not sure if they will be of any help.

If you get a 465/205 combo, you'll definately need new driveshafts. I reused my crossmember from the 700, but bolted straight to the crossmember since I couldnt find a bushing or have enough room for one. Although I havent had any issues in 2+ years, I dont really recommend it.

As for the clutch, if you can go hydro. The mech setup is much easier and cheaper to find, but you'll end up making brackets for the bellcrank as stock OEM frame brackets dont line very well.
