Depending on transmission, for an 8" lift, a HAD might be all but REQUIRED.
I just ordered my front HAD last week after years of listening to my CV bind. I'm done with that bullshit, and I'm doing it right.
With an 8" lift you're going to be running some pretty steep angles.

Did you get them to make a custom one for you? What was the price? How do you like it /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif I want one when I get lift. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
I'm planning on running 38.5-39.5" tires with about 5" of lift. Will require lots of trimming but that doesn't bother me, I want to have a low center of gravity but will need the diff clearance for the D60/14Bolt.
Besides the length, you will probably have to clearance your front shaft at the double cartigan part. If you do a shackle flip in the rear watch your pinion angle. I have 6" tough country fronts, had to trim quite a bit for 38.5 x 14.5 sx's on a 10" rim with 4" bs.
I tried BushWacker before and the first time I went out trail riding in the woods and clipped a tree they got ripped apart! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif So this time I just trimmed out the fenders as so many other here have done as well. I used simple rubber fender flares from JC Whitney. I have enough room to fit a 42 comfortably for when I can afford getting my 1 ton axles! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Hey, if your NOT afraid to "trim" the fenders, this is my old 76 with 4" lift and 40" mudders. NO drivline mods (excpt rear shaft) d44/14ff And sagging body mounts.

That sounds like exactly like what i want to do! Do you have a part # for the flares? can you explain about how they work? Are they just like a rubber strip and you just make you own flare out of it? thanks!
Driveshafts, HAD. Yeah, they might cost ya some, but well worth it. 8" lift, think BDS springs up front, and ORD Shackle flip + Tuff Country or BDS springs for the rear. You may want to consitter a combo of suspension lift and body lift.
