So for a while now, well actually since ive owned the truck, there has been a humming noise coming from sounds like the rearend at highway speeds when i let off the gas. I just replaced the U-joints, does that mean my rear end is about to take a turn for the worst.

I have that too. Sounds like a semi's engine brake going off right?
drain the fluid in ur rear and take a good look at it. metal water or other and i would sugg checking and and replacing the gasket

I was having a weird noise too....then my rear diff started to leak...my pinion nut wasn't even snug! Replaced the pinion seal, snugged the nut(used lock-tite!) and is all better...
