do you remove the jam nut and spin the cap off the adjuster stud or screw the adjuster stud out of the cap and count turns? I need to swap my drilled and tapped top cap over to another box and don't want to mess up the backlash on the new box.

Last time I spun the cap off the stud but I am not sure if that was the right way to do it.

I removed the 4 bolts and the adjustment nut then spun the cap off. Reverse for installation. Worked ok for me but I did have to adjust the sector shaft a little.

Quick Hijack....I just put on a new steering box. Do I need to adjust it to my ride, or is it ready to go?
