What's the difference?

I see alot of post talking about putting in a 2wd steering box instead of a 4wd? What's the advantages?

The only reason people install the 2wd box is for a crossover steering modification. The 2wd box uses a different sector shaft to allow the correct pitman arm for the shaft. Check out this catalog page from Offroad Design for more info on the swap.

Yes , for crossover steering .

2wd box = fully splined , the pitman arm can be clocked anywhere .

4wd box = splined partially and set screwed ( cinch bolted actually ) , the pitman arm goes on one way only .
