i have no idea whats in it. it has disc brakes and a locker already. so, if it's the gear i a'm lookin for. that saves me more loot.:Dbut i can't remember the way to check. one tire rotation / plus how many shaft??? or HTF it works. :dunno: i never find chit in a search so help!!! thanks

if no limited slip, then secure one hub, spin the yoke and count the turns required to make 1 full revolution of the opposite hub. Number of turns = gear ratio. If you don't secure one of the hubs, it will spin backwards while the other spins forwards.

Mark the hubs and yoke with chalk so you don't loose track of how many turns you made.

If it has a locked diff or limited slip, then no need to secure one of the hubs.

If you had it apart, just divide the number of teeth on the ring by the number of teeth on the pinion.

Check the ring gear markings and divide the big number by the little number...

In this example, the important numbers are "12" and "45"..... = 3.75 ratio

The last two stampings I believe are the date code for the gearset... in this case Oct 1971. :dunno:
