Embarrassed to say that I don't look at my roof of my rig that much, but anyway...

So I'm looking at the roof of my rig last night and hadn't noticed this before but there is a hole in the center about 6" in front of the top that has a 1" plug in it.

What's this for? Was it a place for accessories for public service use or something?

Well, mine has one to. I thought the previous owner had put it there. I have noticed that the Game Warden put his antenna for his radio there.

Sounds like sombody had an antenna on the vehicle for a 2 way or a Phone. That should be directly above the dome light where it's easy to get at to run the cable.

Seeing that Depdog has one too, I've got to believe it came that way from the factory. Hey I don't mind as long as it doesn't start leaking! (Of course in the last 6 months it's only rained 4 or 5 days! Still loving Arizona !!

It's probably just for an aftermarket antenna, because I have two of them on my truck. One for CB, and the other one is a FM antenna.

Just don't start talking like a real zonie, saying "but it's dry heat!" in August when you've had about 80 straight sunny days over 100...........LOL - I lived there for 8 years (Phoenix and Mesa) and LOVED the wheeling, open desert pre-running, etc. But man, that heat! Guess it beats the snow and salted roads in the northeast tho.

well if they are...I wish they would quit sending my hindparts to work Monday to Friday. I would rather wrench on the Ole Gal Monday through thursday...then take a three day weekend to go tear something up....

The hole is so when your truck is completely covered in mud, you wipers don't work because of the mud load on them, and you don't dare open you doors for fear of being filled and killed, you pop the plug, hit the gas and if there is mud on your finger, keep on the gas. Keep repeating until clean finger is extracted.

Well, having lived in 5 states now, Arizona ranks up there in the top two..........Oregon being number one for ME. Used to 'wheel a TON there, Deer Valley Cycle Park was number one at the time (early 1980's) 35th and Dunlap.......then there was Four Peaks up off Rte 89 on the way to Payson........OUTSTANDING wheeling. You guys ever hit that area?
