Doing some spring cleaning and have a bunch of small stuff that Im saving, but not sure if I should dump it, sell it, give it away or hang on to it. Stuff like inside tire carrier, left and right kick panels, replacement body panel (right behind drivers door), hitch that goes into receiver, etc.

I hate to get rid of something that may have value and/or I wont be able to replace if I need to. I know ill never put the spare back inside, but something compels me not to get rid of the carrier. lol.

I hate clutter, I try to toss anything and everything as soon as possible.

If you think you're going to use it later, think it though and really ask yourself if it's worth storing it just for the possibility of using it later. On average I think for about 5 minutes, then if I haven't said yes, I dump it. I only have a one car garage and no yard though.

Most stuff like your kick panels can be bought online for a good price and look better than yours. Unless ur willing to reuse them, no one else will buy them. I just gave Rene a bunch of stuff for 10 bucks plus shipping. Tire carrier, ashtray, glovebox, misc. If you don't want to waste your time for 10 bucks, trash it. :)

Put it up in the for sale section. But it sucks dealing with all that for pennies. Only reason I try to, is to keep original parts from getting thrown away. I couldn't give my old shell away. Cut it up and tossed it. That kinda made me sad. :(

If you ever came to my house you would know my answer.
I only sell when I need money, I only scrap when there is no other use for it.
I don't clean up unless I am looking for a part in my big mess of parts.
I upgraded from a 1300sq home with 2 car garage to a 1600sq home with 3 car garage and RV access, just because of that.
Never had a problem with space inside the house, it's the garage and Shed and back yard that just will never be enough.

I am the very wrong person to ask that. I have a whole building full of all kinds of car parts.

Until they rust into nothing.

We went through our storage area today with a couple cans of aerosol paint. Designating pieces with a "scrap it" color, "Move it outside" color and finally a "keep it here" color. It has gotten out of control and its high time to do something about it.

If you don't forsee yourself ever using it again, you can't or don't want to deal with selling it, and noone wants it then it's time to throw it away.

When it is time to clean I put everything up for sale on craigslist and what doesn't sell I back the truck up to the building and load up to scrap. Although as soon as I get rid of something I need it.

Lies:whistle: - don't listen to this man. :doah:He probably hugs trees too. Never throw anything away, build more storage. :thumb:

I like that garage Majic235!..unusual design ,but it looks sturdy and functional!..

I've kept things so long they were JUNK by the time I went to use them--like the '73 K-10 hood sitting in my woods on some palleyts, the whole front of it is now a big HOLE,useless for anything now, unless you had a truck with NO hood--was pretty darn nice when I plopped it there 10+ years ago...
I've also tossed perfectly good axles and other "hard parts" I thought I'd "never use" when I scrapped a bunch of stuff cluttering the yard up,and found I needed it not a month later!..even if I'd let them sit till they were scrap,I'd get 235 bucks per ton today, not 75 bucks "back then"..sometimes just waiting to sctrap things pays off big time...

BTW--I sold a K-5 spare tire holder (one thats factory mounted inside the truck) for 100 bucks one day when a guy came in the junkyard looking for one!..I had mine in a pickup bed full of scrap awaiting a trip to the crusher..I've regretted scrapping many other parts I thought no one else would ever need or have uses for too...I sold a '71 K-10's ash tray, glove box door and sun visors, and other interior parts for a quick 50 bucks at a swap meet, and I never thought anyone would buy them!...I still have a bunch of stuff like dash clusters ,interior parts and other trinkets...
I say keep everything if you have a dry storage place for it...its all money in the bank someday ..
