Hey guys I ran across this 1972 Blazer. I have not seen it in person yet. Ad says new motor new paint. From the pictures what do you guys think it's worth? I like K1500..... But I'm missing my old Blazer! ummm 7-8ish and that's if I could be sure that there's no half-ass bodywork or rust repair under the paint.

Can't tell too much, but it's been fixed up, not restored. I personally wouldn't worry too much about the seats, but those bumpers hafta go.

Need some good pics if the bottom of the doors and rockets. But 6-8k is about right for a nice one of those.

X2 on losing the bumpers.

Wow!!

Up here that thing would run $10 000.00 plus!!:eek1:

Bondo buggy or not, it's good looking in the pics!

Almost impossible to say from those photos and without knowing what you are looking to do with it once it's yours....

With the 1st Gens it's all about the rot. For $8500 there had better not be any, but I'm sure that paintjob it hiding a number of sins. It doesn't look like it was done by someone who really cared about the prep and underlying metal... just wanted a "fresh" looking truck. To me, a paintjob like that is worth exactly $0.... I'm going to need to strip it all off anyway to see what I'm really dealing with.

Bumpers are horrible, so those go in the scrap pile. Factory A/C is nice, but only if it works and blows cold (which I'll bet it doesn't). My guess is that the axles and driveline (with the exception of the engine) have never been gone through, and the suspension is probably stock or close to stock with dryrotted bushings, etc.

If you are going to swap in new suspension and axles, then that stuff doesn't matter but don't pay a premium price for a truck where 80% of it is going in the scrap pile....

I'm with the 6500 range also, the interior is crap (even the shifter arm is rusty) seats are ripped up pretty bad. I worry about "fresh paint", wonder what will be bubbling in six months. :dunno:

This truck is getting tortured here. Let me just say, I think its a good looking truck and congrats if u buy it, but I personally would rather see it in the raw to assess the rot/body damage for myself rather than pay a premium for a shiny "I need to sell it" paint job. My concern is that if someone took the time and expense to fix the body right, you would see similar efforts elsewhere in the truck. I'm not seeing it in the pics which gives me doubts. Doesn't automatically make it a heap, but should make you put the gottahaveit urge aside and inspect it objectively.

It has new doors and is Rhino lined through out the inside. I'm going to do my best and go take a look at it. When I first saw it I got excited! I miss my old K5, but you guys bring up a great point... I really don't want to and can't afford to rebuild another truck right now.... Really I'm never going to know until I go see it in person. I need to just keep my K1500 juice up the motor a little. Build stronger axles, lift it.. The list goes on. I only sold my K5 to get a truck I could use. I just saw the K5 and got excited... I knew y'all would steer me in the right direction.
