Ok, as promised, I got off my lazy butt and worked on my junk today instead of hangin in the lounge. I got the Mustang fixed, no problems. Then I went to the '96 K1500. I found some type of cover in the pile-o-parts for this truck that I can't remember where it goes. It's possible that it isn't even for this truck, but for some other vehicle around here.... beats me.

The top pic is a pic of what appears to be the top of the cover, and the bottom pic is a pic of what appears to be, would ya' believe it, the bottom of the cover.
It has a part number of 24003774

So, ummm, any ideas?

Ya, I guess a size would help :doah: I don't have anything of a known size to photo it with, but it's about 9" x 11", and about an inch tall.

Funny thing is I remember taking this piece off, but haven't a clue where it goes... or what vehicle it's for! :doah:

front diff skid plate ???
Nah, it would be for somewhere under the hood because that's were I was working. It's made from fairly thin plastic.

Is it that little skid plate fluckinthing tha mounts under the T case and extends towards the rear , from the tranny crossmember? on a chevvy

My guess is the plastic jack mount that is on the inner fender well.

I'm about 99.9% sure of this.

Would this be on the driver side or passenger side? It's a '96, and has the washer fluid tank that has an extension that comes up past a storage box, and it's that washer fluid container that I was replacing today.

...but, not that I think about it, the jack is under the rear seat (extended cab)

This piece has a little round piece of velco on it too, not sure why.

I'm not sure about the later vehicles but on my 89 blazer it is mounted on the driver side inner fender well.

Yep, all works fine without it. I went to the Chevy dealer, and the part number doesn't even show up in the computer, so... I'll just throw it away and call it a day. :D

If that's the case, then I'm the BEST! :D I always seem to have extra parts.

Nope, I haven't messed with the battery. It may just be some part that someone threw into my pile-o-parts...?:dunno:
