number 2= the wire.
number 1= what is that? it looks like I could unscrew it. Cant seem to pull the wire off.

Thanks.

Oil pressure sending unit switch that goes to yer oil pressure gauge. All is it is a lil knife connector. It pulls right off.

take a small flathead and stick it in between the connector and the rubber on both sides to break it free then pull on it... don't pry it tho.

I went out and did it after my reply. I took a flat head screwdriver and stuck it underneath the boot and it popped off. Ripper a tiny bit though.
One question... is the white thing suposed to come with it? There is the boot with a slot in it(female side), then the white thing has the male side. does the white guy stay, or how do I get that out? Tried pulling on it but it won't move. All it does is spin.

so the white thing shouldn't spin?
to get a new one, do I have to replace the whole oil pressure sender, and the guage?

I agree with big83.... it shouldn't spin... Its not worth it to try to jimmy rig something that cheap that will have a huge part in telling whats going on with your motor.

I beleive a new sending unit is around 20 bucks at autozone but i may be off... been a couple years since i bought one.

okay I will just replace it, if I keep the engine. It still belongs to the PO...but he owes us 300 bucks, so I might just buy it off my mom (he owes my mom the money)
anyways, thanks guys!!
one more q, are they all the same, or is there one specific for the engine size/ and year?

There are different types for different years. Just make sure you get the right one for a gauge or dummy light when you do get one. They are around 14 bucks. Just bought one last weekend.

yeh be careful, several different ones each year, wrong one and oil wont guage right in dash, get sender for exact year make model of vehicle or put in a mechanical guage setup and do away with factory electric one, now is the time to do so if you wish

good luck
