Can you get a pic. I have the dash out of my truck right now.
As soon as the kids are in bed i will run out and look for a brown wire. Can you explain it better that just "brown"??

ive got one too in my 91 silverado.

not sure where it goes so it stays unplugged.

the brown wire comes out of the top of the switch, it has a plug head, but i can find no where it plugs into ? a pic would be great. its attached to the switch, maybe its used to jump something, i dunno. thanks for posting. :D

i do know the brown wire that goes into the plug that goes to the light switch is for tail lights. i would guess its an outlet for cab lights but thats just a guess never seen a blazer with factory cab lights but that doesnt mean they didnt use a 1 ton light switch in a k5. just a random guess and stab in the dark you could try a test light on it...............

I think you are on the right track with the cab light thought.
I have an 85 1 ton cab that has the brn wire in it . (it runs to the over head cab lights)At least i think it is brn. It has been a while since i looked.

possible column shifter indicator light

there is a tan wire hanging from both of my blazers steering columns. i never knew what it was. yesterday i had to open up my column and it was the shifter indicator light. dark brown wire is attached to the accessory circuit on general motors vehicles.

hooks to the accessory circuit how and where ? is see no other plug-ins, thats why its so confusing ? thanks ahead of time.
