What\'s up with my D-shafts?

Ok, after putting my new lift springs in the front, I can't get my front driveshaft to slip far enough to reconnect it! WTF?? It's only a 4" lift! What do I do guys? I really don't have any money to get it extended. Also, is it alright if threads are showing on the rear slip shaft? Thanks!

Superlift makes a 1 inch block you can put on the front driveshaft... 50 bucks...

The rear.. well dont wheel it hard if you have rear blocks dont slam the brakes on... it'll pop out... trust me...

I had about 1/2 inch showing and mine popped out when somelady cut me off and i had to lock them wheels up... not good...

It's about 140-160 to lengthen the rear...

That's nonsense. I've been running rear blocks for a long time, and so have my buddies and a lot of other people. Springs or a shackle flip are better, but blocks are plenty safe. Even the factory uses them.

i never said they werent safe... you know what axle wrap is... blocks cause it... if your rear shaft is too short and you have a axle wrap problem the shaft can pop out.. you want pictures of what happens when the shaft pops out.. it rips things apart...

I think Tim was thinking you meant that the blocks would pop out, not the D-shaft. I could be wrong but that's what I would guess by his answer. Just a thought.

Sounds like the splines are jammed. should be plenty of spline for a 4 inch lift. BigJBear had the same problem when he lifted his 80. Run it by a drive shaft shop and see if they can fix it. Most places will respline them for about $150.

Thank you all for the help, I'll pull it and see what I can do about it! I got the spring part done tonight, it looks damn good sitting 4"s higher! Thanks again...
