Just a quick get-a-way, flatlanders have been driving me nuts lately!

My buddy Steve helped me finish our 2 year tree house project...that will a seperate thread:haha: and we took off at about 1900 hrs for Lockwood Valley.

Ahhhhhhhh.....the high country. Nice campfire, good steaks, good sleep under the stars. Got up, did some shooting form camp with my Marlin 45-70 Govt. Guide gun, and my 30-06, 18" bbl Mauser, .357 w/ +P+ ammo:eek1: .

Then, although we were out in a canyon, I hear a rig approaching from behind. Cease fire, and the Frazier Park 4X4 club w/ 18 rigs is passing by to rockcrawl in Dry Canyon. Jeeps, Yota's but some HD rigs. Some serious guys, so I thought, lets join them with the Suburban. Awesome day,

Bratwurst for breakfast, shooting, wheeling.Ahhhhhhh, I feel normal again.

Then, downstairs we go to the sodbusters!:haha:

Whats your typical 24 hr. getaway like?

Here's my getaway. It's only about 3 hrs' away, so I try to get up there at least twice a month. I usually get there on Fri. night. Saturday I go shooting, hiking, maybe scouting deer for next season. Oh yeah!, or wheelin! There are miles of trails on 9,000 acres. A lot of the time I am fixing things that are falling apart at the cabin, like the front porch! The best, is when I get up around 7 am, grab a cup of cofee and sit on the porch and read. After about ten minutes all the critters start coming out, like I'm not even there. We have 4 hummingbird feeders anfd those litle fukkers will fly full speed at your face, then stop on a dime about a foot away, and they'll just hover for a bit. Way cool to see the critters way up close. I gotta figure out some way to live up there...

That's great! You are very fortunate to have a cabin of your own. And the farther you can get away from 'Frisco the better!

Who knows, maybe we can meet up sometime, maybe on the Rubicon Trail.:D

I live in the sticks. I can get lost from civilization at the end of the block. A 24 hour getaway for me. Usually involves a big city and shopping.

That'a a good one!:haha:

Yup. Seems kinda strange I have to go to a mall, fight crowds and traffic jams to get my soul refreshed and my spirit renewed.
24 hours of all that materal bliss is about all I can take. Usually cant wait to get back home.:D
