I have a 74 K5. Under the best (highway and warm) conditions I get maybe 12.5 mpg. Regular running around and some 4 wheelin is more like 9 mpg. I have a 350 4 speed with a coverted part time np203. Is this all I should expect?

Well I never checked my K5's..... But my 89 Heavy half p/u, lifted with 35's and a 383 gets 6.75 MPG!!!!! God help me!!! /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry for the post. I should've done the search thing. I went there while waiting for a reply, and found lots of info. Mostly I get about average mpg. 9-12mpg.

I forgot to mention, thats around town mileage. ON the highway it is around 10MPG...

My crew cab gets around 15mpg. My play truck, however, gets about 4 mpg going downhill, in neutral, with the motor off.

My K10 has 4.88 gears 37" tires and a 700r-4 and a built 377cid small block and an 8" superlift and a 2" body lift I get 14 mpg normal commuting on the highway I've gotten almost 20 mpg on long highway trips with a tailwind If I'm drivin'into the wind mileage goes to hell real quick my "New" K-20 has a NV4500,tbi 454, 4.10 gears and 315-70-16 bfg's and a 4" rancho lift I get anywhere between 12-17 mpg . I think my YellowK20 gets like 1-2 mpg /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif so I don't drive it much /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

I got my '84 Heavy 3/4 ton (350, 4 speed, 208) with 33's on it and get between 11 and 14.

84 K5, sadly stock (for now). 25+mpg. Oh, did I mention 6.2 Diesel! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

10mpg!!!???? that's awesome your truck is badass I guess them tall decks are pretty efficent /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Thats not to bad! Before I quit work I started a gas tracker for my own curiousity. I have a TBI 350 with an Overdrive 700r4. Some of the low ratings where from letting the truck sit and warm up in the cold or running 4wd on the highway to back and forth.

I get about 9 around town. My truck has a basically stock engine, 4.10's, 35's, 4" lift and a 700. I have no idea on what it gets on the freeway, I will find that out this weekend.

Mine gets from 12-16,depending on how much I run in OD.88 SWB,GMC,SFA D60,4.10s on38s with lots of miles on it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
