Hey guys....I just purchased all the the weatherstripping for my '71 K5....hopefully I will have time to replace it this week. I got everything except for the front and rear side windows. Any suggestions or advice before I start? Thanks

My only suggestion is that you don't install it in cold weather. The rubber has a tendency of contracting in the cold. Other than that, good luck.

ALL the weatherstripping? Man, you must be broke!!!

I remember adding up the stuff just for the hardtop, and that was close to $500.....it's those stupid "door to window" weatherstrips that they really "screw" you on.... something like $100/pr.

Yet another reason I ditched the hard top (which I am trying to sell BTY) in favor of a soft top. All the weather stripping I have left is the stuff around the doors which is cheep. Of course I need to fix that lip on the bottom that rusted away if I want to have some place to mount the weather stripping

Happy weatherstripping! I just started the final install on my truck except for the doors. I plan to do this in the next few days. I bougt stuff from LMC. I found out today that LMC sent me the wrong window channel seals with the correct part number on the bag. They suck! Also the right door frame moulding is screwed up. Gotta send it back and try again. Aside from these pitfalls, things fit well and installed easily.

The weatherstriping i bought i bought from a shop in Roseville called Mikes Truck Shop. All the weatherstriping can be bought at LMC..I just bought mine locally....dont like to give out a creadit info. Top Header strip, door front right and left weatherstrip, door rear right and left, door glass-to-roof weatherstip left and right, right and left rain deflectors and top to rear quarter panel strips, left and right. Just for those peices im up to about $350. The rest is going to have to wait..till later this year. I am in the process of sanding inside the top (had it removed this morning) and will probally paint it with a black/grey "hammered look" pant. The metal strips that are underneath the top (double wall) that hold the bolts in are in neeed of cleaning out, plus I need to add some rivits to reinforce those strips. And I have a bit of fiberglass repair to do on the sides..other than that it should pretty well....I'll try to throw out some pics soon for progress.
