so ive got 8 lug in the back and 6 lug in the front.. should I just use 2 different rims (lug patterns) or should i get a 6-8 lug adators for the front?


Before people ask why I didnt use a 14 bolt semi float with a 6 lug. For a few reasons.

I dont like the word semi float, C-clips make me sad, and its not the same in strength (weight is held by the axle shafts and not the hubs) and I already own a full float axle.

You should be able to change the hubs up front to 8 lug ones. simple swap i believe

I was told the hubs are bigger on the 8 lug compared to the 6 lug half ton

and if they do fit, do the 1/2 ton cv shafts fit the 8 lug bearing?

If the front is a 10bolt, swapping to 8-lug is hubs/rotors, calipers, and backing plates. On the other hand, it's an easy afternoon swap and makes life much simpler (and you get slightly better brakes.)

If it's a D44, the same idea applies, but you may have to addtionally swap the spindles as there are two sizes.

EDIT: You said "CV shafts" -- is this an IFS rig?

Do you plan on carrying 2 spare tires?
It'd probably cost about the same for the adapters as it would to convert the front to 8 lug.
And for the record I'm not a fan of semi float axles either ever since my rear axle wanted to go a different way than the front did.

My fault should have mentioned it before...thought the words "CV AXLE" would give it away...


.....fuel injection, computers, Auto-trac and AWD and then eeee gad! IRS!!!!

but luckily yet sadly i have this thing called IFS and its my DD mutt machine.
