On my 1990 K5, I want to put a 4" BDS lift with 35" tires on 15x10 wheels. I've heard that it may rub. Does anyone have setup like this and what is your backspacing?

4" and 35s with no rub unless I get stupid flexing the front, then the tire will bite the rear of the front fender. I have done no trimming, probably could be easily clearanced. Factory BS.

What lift are you running? What is your wheel size?

On my '75 Blazer, I have 15x10" wheels; the backspacing is about 2.5/3 inches.

4 inch lift; they're old rough countries, they have been rearched once, so they may be sagging a little now...

Fenders are not trimmed.

Tires: BFG AT KO 35x12.5x15, no rubbing. I am pretty sure that if I kit a curb real hard in a turn it just may make contact with the fenders.

Because everyone likes pics; Here are a few of the clearance. Pics were taken on level surface and the tires were turned to the least amount of clearance. A few of the pictures may be angled a little, so some clearance may seem super close.

Most of the guys that 35" rub on are because the sway bar is disconnected. More travel more rub. They will rub but only if you actually wheel over obstacles. Wheeling in the mud would be fine.

I bet back in time once the wheel was invented and the spring was invented man began to ask "can I fit 35's with 4" lift?" And I'm sure first 3 pages of threads when coloradoK5.com first came on line were about this same subject. It's too bad the search engine is broken or you'd have all your answers.

Just havin' some fun with ya, man!

I know where my engine is, why search for it?

Well, when your engine is missing, obviously you use the search engine to find it. :doah:

(And I thought "putting limited slip lube in my rear end" was misleading.)

Well I would say you can but if you end up flexing the suspension hard while turning this is what will happen. (1990 GMC with 6 in lift with 38X15.5X15) I know it isn't the 4 in lift with 35's but the concept is the same (pics) the fix is simple (haven't done it to this truck yet) but straighten the metal all out roughly 8 inches from the bottom end of the metal and starting there at 3/4 of an inch going 8 inchs up and at that point you are cutting it flush ie diagonal line. After the rebend the edge one inch inward and you can replace the trim if you had it.
