im currently chasing a cure for the DW. Right now i am on wheel bearings and have one question.

looks like i may have a hard time taking out the old race. Do i have to replace those? or can i just do the bearings? if you guys think i should then what is the easiest way to do that with only garage tools, and a very limited selection? Can i just hit them out with a screw driver and a good whack?

yeah probably if you hold your mouth the right way. and use the old race to knock the new one in. if youve got a brass drift thats the tool of choice but be sure not to booger up the inside of the hub.

thats exactly it...I don't have a drift.

I'm trying to get the old ones out...how do i do that?

Should i not even worry about the race? right now i am replacing rotors...(with old hubs) brakes,upper/lower balljoints, wheel bearings. Or will i be wasting my time if i don't do the race?

some say do it and some say dont. the race has wear to that particular bearing so with a new bearing and at like $3 why not right?

and ive had to use a screwdriver to knock em out just knock it out away from the inside of the hub. be very careful to not gouge it or anything.
