im looking at getting the deal on 4wheelparts.com for some 15" wheels today. i want the wheels to stick out of the fender some so i would assume the 2.75" backspacing would accomplish that? or do i run 4.25"?

also im running 13.50" wide tires can i go with a 15x10" wheel thanks guys

On my 87 I ran some 15x8 cragars with 4" backspace for a while. That is the most I could run. Had weights on the inside and they were very close to the tie rod ends. If you like the T.J. stance then 2.75 is for you. I think a happy medium would be around the 3 1/2" range. Yes you can run 10" wheels with those tires.

yes i can tell you shake hands with danger using the tenbolt rear
yes you can use 10" rims with 13.5 tires, i used them with 16" tires b4
keep a stock offset, i think its just over 4", they gunna stick out plenty....

ill be putting them on my 14 bolt rear. i just hope they will fit over the drums i got the ones with 2.75" backspacing:confused:

Wheels with only 2.75" backspacing are going to stick out pretty far, especially with 13.50s. 3.75" is usually about right for 15x10s. Do you have the 8 lug 14ff rear or the six lug semi-float version? The 15x10s should fit over the drums in the rear with no problem, but I'm wondering about the front. If you have a D60 front, you may still have caliper issues, even with that little backspacing.

i have the ff 14b and just the 10bolt 3/4 up front for now until i can get a 60. will those wheels fit with a 60 up front with some caliper grinding and bracket grinding?

You can get the 15x10s to fit on a D60. There's an article under the Technical Articles section on the CK5 home page that details how to do it. Lots of guys used to run 15s on D60 fronts because the 15" tires were so much cheaper and more common than anything else and they didn't like the 16.5s because the tires wouldn't stay on the rim. Now that 17" tires are getting cheaper, lots of them have switched over to the 17s.

Here's the link to the tech article:

I ran 15's with 2.75" BS on my D60 and disc-braked 14FF rear. Absolutely no problems on the rear, and no clearance issues with 4.25" BS 15's with the factory big drum brakes previously either.

On the D60 I did have to spend about 2 minutes per side cleaning the casting flash off of the calipers for them to fit.

I only run 15x8's, but a 15x10 with 2.75" BS will stick out quite a bit.
