I am getting tired of the rear wheels on my '73 Blazer hiding under the truck. The front track seems to be about 2 inches wider on each side. Can I use wheels with a different offset on the rear to get the wheels out from under the truck. Has any one else tried this. I know a Chevy van axle will accomplish the same thing, but I don't want to swap axles unless there is no other option. Thanks.

I was going to do this when I ordered my first set of wheels, but when I told them what I wanted, they said that backspaing wasn't available. This was on a set of AR chrome steel wagon wheels.
But it would make rotating tires a pain since you can only swap back tires with back tires and fronts with fronts.

I have heard of guys running longer wheel studs and a spacer, but I don't know how safe that is.
