Wheel question....16\" vs 15\"

Will a set of 2002 Z71 16" wheels fit on a 1989 Blazer that came with 15" wheels from the factory? Both are 6 lug, 4 wheel drive.

If the 16" wheels will fit, would the speedometer/odometer need some kind of adjustment to give accurate reading?

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

1. yes

2. the overall height of the tires is what detirmines if the speedo will need to be recalibrated, not the wheels.

You might want to check the backspacing, I think the new IFS have a lot of backspacing that might not work. You might have some tie-rod/steering linkage issues. But the bolt pattern is the same so worst case scenario you can use some wheel spacers.

In addition to that you might need to check to see if the hub clears.

no nope nadda
/forums/images/graemlins/deal.gifthe ifs rims will not fit the solid axle trucks. i tried it. sorry pal. the backspacing and the hub hole is not big enough.

Same lug pattern, but the center hole is too small and the backspacing will cause problems.
