Just tried to order these http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/X...s=210&t_pt=100073&t_pl=9845&t_pn=PXA8101-6883

and the "salesman" on the phone tells me that they won't fit my 74k-10 because of interference with the knuckle that I will have to get 15" or 18" rim. So I as him how the 15" fits and a 16" doesn't and he says that its because the 15" goes to the inside and the 18" goes to the outside. Is this just crap or am I crazy?

or did he mean that it will hit the steering arm with the 16" rim having 4.5"BS and the 15" rim having 3.5"BS? That is my only guess...and I guess that an 18" rim would clear the steering arm entirely so that is why it is ok? I may say screw it and go with 15's...I was just looking for a little extra brake clearance.

4.5" backspacing will probably be close. They should offer a similar wheel with 4.125 BS which should be fine. Lots of guys running all wheel sizes with that backspacing.

Thanks for the reply. I checked everything out and the rub point is on the tie rod ends. On my current wheels my inside weights barely pass the tie rod without hitting. So I am going to measure the backspacing of my current wheels and just make sure that the new ones are less than them.

If I were buying new wheels I would probably just go 17's. Its the new mainstream wheel size. 17's should clear fine. Lots of guys run 17's with 5" of bs.

Don't know if this helps. I run a 15" rim with 4.25" BS on a D44 and have no issues other than grinding on the caliper brackets and calipers.
