what length wheel studs do you guys use with a 14 bolt with discs? the auto parts store has 2 or 3 different lengths for 3/4 ton stuff

i dont remember exact length, but i believe i got mine for a 87 1 ton 3500 srw...they are the longest ones for that application autozone had...i stripped 3 and had to change em out...i could c if i still have a part # tho...

auto zone part#610-189.1
" " " #98739.1
wheel stud
9\16"-18
this is everything thats listed on the package the wheel stud came in...hope this helps

do you have a dana 60 in the front or a 10 bolt/danaa 44? those studs should still fit in the 3/4 ton front hubs, right?

As long as the 14ff has the 13" drums you just re-use the stock studs. If you have one of the 14ff axles with the 11" drums then you need new studs. Not all rotors will allow the studs to seat correctly within the recessed area of the rotor so you either need to cut the OD of the head of the stud to 1" or you need to open the recessed area so the stud head will fit.

9/16-18 x 2 3/4” Rear Wheel Studs – Dorman – 610-188

Those are the ones I used, came from O'Reillys.

thanks, i guess i'll call O'reilly's and tell them to order some (i'm sure they don't have 32 in stock)

Those are the ones I used for the rear here are the front studs and lug nuts. 9/16-18 x 2 1/8” Front Wheel Studs – Dorman – 610-180 and 9/16-18 Chrome Lug Nuts – Dorman – 711-504 (4 Pack)

The length you need will determine what type of wheels you're running.

If you run aluminum rims, you want longer studs so the lug nuts have thread contact thru the nut hole or almost bottoming out in the chrome enclosed type nuts. Some aluminum rims have a thick lug base and therefore the nuts don't have as much grab to hold on to.

those were for my rear 14 bolt w/discs...i have a d60 in front n haven't had to get stubs for it...yet

the rims i'm running are steel

the lug nuts i plan to get a 2" long, so if i get the 2 3/4" studs and put them on the front they shouldn't be too long should they?

9/16-18 x 2 1/8” Front Wheel Studs – Dorman – 610-180

Those are the ones I used on the front... I think they're stock front studs for a 73' K20... and probably a bunch of other years...
