Hi! This is the problem which I already confront with... I bought from ebay, some time ago (for moment I don't remember from who), a set of 1.5" 8 lug x 6.5" adapters, which I had intended to use on my truck - 1991 V2500 Suburban. When they arrived, I noted they had fitted a different type of studs, with a larger screw thread - M14x1.5 was wrote in the ebay description. :eek1:
Because my location is not quite close to US, and to shipping from/to US, it must pay customs taxes, it's not so easy for me to send it back... so, now I have a set of adapters which I don't need it anymore, because they not fit with the other studs/nuts!
I tried to replace the adapters studs, with genuine studs, but, they not fit in adapters, because the head is to big... they can't get in, in the adapters holes...

I attached some photos, with 1.5" adapters studs, D60 9.75" hub studs, GM 10.5" hub studs and one genuine GM stud, bought from LMC truck, to compare how is fit with D60 & GM axles hubs studs and not fit with 1.5" adapter studs! :doah:

My questions are:
- Why don't fit the adapters studs with hubs/original studs?!!! At this moment, I have 4 (four) GM axles for comparison (GM 8.5" front / DANA 60 9.75" king pin / GM 9.5" / GM 10.5")! The adapters studs don't fit with anyone!
- What is the real thread pitch size for wheel studs used on this axles?!
- Why adapters aren't fitted with the genuine GM studs, like the wheel hubs?!
- There is someone who had this problem before, or I'm the only one?!

Later trucks (1988-up) went to a metric stud but the blazer/suburban/crewcab stayed SAE until 1991. So basically you have wheel adapters/spacers for a 1988-later New body style axles.

The axles should be 9/16-18 not the 14x1.5 you got. Just get some 9/16-18 open end lug nuts and that should mount the adapter the axle.

You beat me to it....... again.

I type to slow!

Somehow, I'm not so sure... My '91 Suburban it's old body style! More, the D60 and GM 10.5" was bought from '88-down pickups, also old body style!

ALL GM D60 axles use 9/16" wheel studs and so do ALL 14ff axles that are 1987 and earlier.

9/16-18... This is the studs size which I bought it, from LMC catalogue! M14x1.5 was the studs size from adapters description on ebay. BTW, until now, I don't seen adapters with 9/16-18 studs on description...

9/16-18 is just the thread size, there are MANY shank/knurl sizes to choose from. You need to take one of the 14x1.5 studs to a parts store and have them measure the knurl diameter and then get you a stud with that size knurl but with 9/16"-18 thread size.

I think so... Maybe the studs replacement will be all can I do.
Where can I find all this studs sizes for GM studs?

Do you have a way to accurately measure the knurl on the stud? If so I have a stud catalog I can look through and see if I can find a stud that will work for you.

Yes, I have, but not at this moment! Here, is 4:25 AM!
After I measure, I will let you know. Thank you!

After I looking to one stud, from my adapters and on Dorman site, the studs which are similar, are 610-332 / 610-332.1.

Thread: M14-1.5
Knurl Dia.: 16.00mm
Length: 54.5mm
Shoulder Length: 17.5mm

I found adapters, on ebay, which have 9/16 studs. Have someone any idea what type of studs they have fitted in?

On the other side, can someone tell me what type of 9/16 studs are fitted on D60 king pin's axle?

fyi not all 88-up 14ff axles use 14x1.50.

i have seen vans use the 9/16 thread up to the late no's when thay did the new body redesign.

my 93 van rear is 9/16.
