Looking on a budget for a direct swap of wheels for road riding in my 75 GMC Jimmy convertible (same as blazer)
I have 33x12.5x15 on right now and they are definitely off road and not road pretty to ride
Any suggestions what might swap on a look good that I might be able to find used off of face book or such?
On a budget so can’t afford new right now
I forget how to add a photo or I would

90 or so K5 factory aluminum wheels. They are 15s also

I was really hoping and looking for something a lot newer not gonna find a lot of those around but what about some newer take off Chevy wheels any direct fits?

Unfortunately, when trucks went to IFS the hub diameter got smaller and so any newer wheels from '88+ trucks or '92+ suvs won't fit over our front hubs. I have seen people on here machine out a larger hub bore in newer OEM wheels and work just fine with our trucks. I am referring only to 6 lug wheels.

I have older wheels on my newer Yukon. Looks better than most newer factory wheels...

Maybe I just need more street freind,y tires

Well then keep the wheels and get new tires. There are a lot off good ATs and streetable MTs out there for 15" wheels.

I haven’t found any newer OE wheels that look good on a squarebody.

as @runamok151 mentioned, there’s lots of 15” tires available. I scored some coopers from Walmart on rollback a few months ago for a good price.

The newer wheels also have a much deeper offset. So they would inset your tires quite a bit and may cause rubbing issues.

Unless you ran spacers all the way around.

I have a pair in a different size on my burb. Love em so far:waytogo:

The Aluminum rims i run on my blazer are for Toyota pickup with 6 lugs, will fit a 60 hub. They have a 5" back space.

Hi guys,

If there’s a particular used 6x5.5 / 6x139.7 wheel you’d probably like, it’s a Dick Cepek DCII. You may be able to find a 20” with 9-10” width on Craigslist. I don’t see many good listings bc I think people just don’t want to sell person to person at this time.

I’m getting close to launching FozziesWheels.com but I don’t have all of my brands loaded yet. Probably next week the ordering process will be all set up but you can put products in your cart right now. Fellas who were talking about the LMC site back in December, give it a ganders for me.

Thx!

Hey, I remember you. Are you still in Beaver Dam? We still pass through there every few months if you wanna meet up.

To answer your question, here is what I ran on my 6-lug truck:

These are takeoff steel wheels from a 1997ish G2500 cargo van. Very cheap at the junkyard, and the backspacing was fine (unlike the newer truck wheels, which have too much backspacing). I cut out the front caps to fit the lockout (not shown), and I had to grind the wheel to make the 3" hub circle fit my 3.5" hubs. So not quite a bolt-on swap, but about as close as you'll get from a newer Chevy truck.

As for the second half of your question, good looks are a matter of taste. I thought the van wheels looked better than the rusty wagon wheels that came with the truck. Internet folks were happy to disagree with me (especially about the use of newer center caps), and at the end of the day it didn't matter. The truck owner picks whatever wheels he wants to run. Find something you like and don't worry about it.

I couldn't imagine someone on the internet might have complained about the wheels on that truck. ;)

Saw a set of take-offs from a 2018 Toyota 4-Runner in CL in Columbus. Not too close to me (45-60 min drive) tho, but you could get a NICE set here pretty cheap and just get 1.5" hub spacers to fix your offset. Says they won't ship them, but this is a nice example of what one of the other guys was mentioning for Toyota wheels. You would need to decide what size your wheel width needs to be for the tires you want. 7.5" is a bit narrow for your current setup, typically you need 8.5" to 10" wide for 12.5" width tires.
