The local group went out to 600 Acres again near Solon IA for some fun on 5-21-05.

Stock Jeep pulling out a stock K20.

The K20 had a short day after the pinion decided to come out of the front 10 bolt.

His day was cut short when he fragged a front U-joint.

About mid-day we met back up at the staging area to get some late arrivers. As we left the lot, a couple of us tried the "big" holes. It didn't work.

I tried a different hole in the Burb:

It took two Jeeps strapped together to winch me out. Thanks to my buddy Chris for tugging me out. :D

I shut the motor off after I was back on dry land and later it wouldn't start. I ended up flooding the starter with water and mud which rendered it useless. :doah:

Using my cardboard creeper :D I yanked the starter. Kelly (SUBFAN) and myself tore the starter down, cleaned it out and reinstalled it, but it was fragged. So, Kelly ran to town and picked me up a new one. Thanks Kelly!!

After the trail fix, we were back back at it.

Chris, in the green Jeep, said over the CB "I think I have found the line, follow me" I don't think this is the right line. :D

Good thing he has a winch.

Toward the end of the day, our group was climbing a hill, as we came to the top, this Bronco(not with our group) started to decend this ravine. It appears that his suspension has zero flex and as soon as the front tire dropped in, he flopped the rig on its side. Good thing his daughter was belted in, although out in the rain. We helped the guy back onto all fours.......too bad he never said thanks.

The guy holding the end of my strap is Kelly(SUBFAN)

The guy decided to start the engine before checking the oil (there was alot spilled)........not what I would have done.

Here is me pulling him back onto all fours:

It was a good day even with the carnage that everyone had. If I had to frag something, I'm glad it was something easy like a starter. :waytogo:

I don't think I've ever seen that much standin water. :eek1: Usually evaporates to fast round these parts to make good quality mud.

Looks like fun albeit a little filthy.

Everyone who was there commented about how "dry" it was that day. That is, until the rain started. :D

Dry? We'd have a state of emergency if we had that much water on the ground. Folks'd be runnin around screamin and pullin out their hair, hittin their knees and prayin. The local "mountains" would be full to capacity as they were tryin to get to higher ground. The freeways headin north would be a grid lock.

You get the idea.

1st Gen's are sooooo secksy!!!!

yeah, im getting a sticker made that says "GMC RECOVERY TEAM" :D

first off it was a good day of wheeling. that rain made it interesting. who let the explorer down in the pit? OMG he bout never got it out. kelly and ben thanks for the help in the crik and with the dexcool.

glad you guys made it to joneseys the largest tenderloins in IOWA, Ben u had 2 right???? i cant believe curt ordered the grilled cheese (chicken strips)..

i cant wait till we get that other burb there. but come on now we all know the real power plant is the 4.0L...... :p:

that XJ couldnt even budge me when i was in the river, but the trusty ole warn 9.5 ti did the job. i had just a few wraps left on the winch. it has 125 ft of cord so i bet that tree was like 115ft away. no match for the green machine. i wish the guy that followed me home woulda stoped when i broke down, since i did stop for him when he broke on the way home.

You must mean 400....It has only been down 5 months now, I am right on schedule

BTW, nothing I currently own that is gas powered runs. Go figure....
