I'm taking my 3yr old out to a semi local park this weekend. His first time wheeling!

I know allot of people take the family, so my question is, were is the best spot in the truck for the little ones to ride?
I have newer Tahoe back seats and newer silverado seats up front. Both have latch systems, front is obviously covered by the half cab and the rear is a cheap "rollbar" and soft top.

Where would your kids ride?

I agree, up front for roof protection. If he can flop around far enough to bump the door or B pillar, maybe put a bicycle helmet on him.

To clarify... I say flop around because I wasn't sure if you have him in a car seat with the harness or a booster seat which tends to be a little more loose.

We used to take my son with us everytime we went. He was 3-4 and would ride in his carseat. We strapped him in the backseat, but we were really just riding mild trails. After I put my cage in the K5, he would ride in the back seat on all of the trails, even the hard lines. Hell, he would fall asleep while bouncing the K5 around. Take the little one, just be careful. Some of the best wheeling memories I have!

Engine cross member cracked pretty good and I think the frame finally cracked behind the steering box. Front rear shackle bushings in the frame are gone, as are the rear shackle bushings.
We were going into a v notch and the passenger tire caught the wall, while the drivers dropped into a hole. All that as the rear end unloaded. I throttled out to get the steering unstuck and landed rough. I heard and felt the xmember go. The steering has more slop but I couldn't see anything yet.

Holy crap! What happened to a light day of wheeling??

It was a light day :doah: lesson learned tho, if I had hydro assist in (3/4 of the stuff is in the garage) it wouldn't of happened. Time to get off my butt and build it right.
