So i ordered my exhaust. Hooker manifold back system, and 2 hooker super comp mufflers. Now next up will be the wheels and a carburetor? My current wheels are 32*11.50*15 , should i keep them that way order should i go a little bigger, i bought the truck like this so i dont know if there is a lift. And i dont know much about truck2 since i am a car guy converted. Also what kind of carb should i go with for my 305 1986 ? thanks

You can't go wrong with a well built and tuned quadrajet. A second option (for me) would be an Edelbrock. I've never liked or had good experiences with Holleys. Kinda not worth upgrading without a good aluminum intake too.

What wheels are on the truck now? You mentioned a tire size but asking about wheels.

They are american racing wheels not really sure how wide because i didnt buy them. Where should i buy the carb? New or used? Im aduming if its new its already tuned.

Also, i meant overal size with tires. and maybe 16 inches in the wheels just dont know if it would fit

First of all...

:sign6:

And you can get quadrajets from places Like SummitRacing.com, they have rebuilt ones for $2xx something all ready to go but you will need to know the specific CFM for your engine and intake setup. Also pick up an intake manifold like said above.

For wheel and tire thoughts get some pics so we can see:thumb:

sorry , didnt know i could put pictures, also how would i check CFM?

I have a book somewhere but no clue where that would be lol. Theirs a conversion of taking cubic inches of your engine and some other factors that calculates the correct cfm.

I think 500cfm would be better for your 305. I may be corrected though so dont go just off of that lol.

But doesn`t an 86 1/2 ton have an electronic carb? Post some engine pics, is it stock othr than the ex you bought. You don`t need to much carb on a stock 305.
