Hi everyone,
I am doing a dana 60 convert on a k5 blazer and I need some help with wheels and suspension.
am getting a 4 in lift kit from rough country(front and rear leaf springs with 4 shocks) and honestly I don't know how strong this kit is,some people say its good and some others say its not and ive never used it befor!!!
and also am getting a set of 8 lugs wheels from summit racing by Cragar Chrome Quick Trick I Wheels (summit racing part number:CRR-3205180)
again I don't know how strong they are for off road use,the Load Rating (lbs):1,600 lbs.

I am trying to get a professional advise about them wheels and lift kit
if you guys please can help me out, much appreciated.
Thanx all.

The Rough Country kit is not highly thought of around here. It's stiff, won't flex, and rides terrible. The preferred setup is a good set of 4" front springs from Alcan/ORD/Tough Country/etc and a shackle flip in the rear. ORD and DIY4X both sell quality shackle flips. A good set of shocks - like Bilsteins - is also recomended.

The wheels you're looking at are plenty strong for all but the most serious offroading. I had a set and never had a problem. However, those particular ones will not fit on a D60. Too much backspacing. You will have to grind the calipers down in order to fit them. Some people do this, others (like me) just go with a larger diameter wheel. 17s are becoming the new 15s.

Also, considering your plans, it would be well worth the $25 to join up here. The people here are very knowledgable and helpful and all your questions have probably been answered many times over. The fee definitely pays for itself.

In any event, good luck.

thanx

yeah thanx for that my friend that was helpful,
and I will consider that $25 joining fee that's for sure
:)

As in the country???

Does ORD ship international?

You would be surprised at the amount of Over seas customers that any business has. ORD does do international for sure, they shipped an entire blazer to a guy in Azerbaijan a year or so ago.

yeah my man,Jordan as n the country!! lots of miles away hay :)
miniwally is right lots of business do international shipping plus i got my friend lives in the states i can allways use his help.

lol thanx man that's cool
my friend told me about this site and he said that I would get a lot of help from all the k5's enthusiasts.
you see my brother has a k5 blazer and he wants to get it done, and since he is a busy man am gonna do the work on it from chasing parts etc..
am planning to do the running gear first so I chose the dana 60 the wheels, haven't made up my mind yet about the suspension and the engine.
we planning to do a fuel injection convert, but we kind of lost between a 350 and a 454..
I think its gonna be fun working on it and I hope it works out fine

Definitely give Offroad Design a call about your suspension setup.

I would hate to spend all that money on shipping for a Rough Country setup. You would not be happy with the final product.
