So the time has come where I need tires and rather than just get new tires for my current 15x10" wheels, I'd like to upgrade to 17" wheels as it opens up a lot more choices for tires and will continue to for many years to come. But more importantly, 17" wheels allow me to upgrade my brakes with plenty of room.

Here's what I'm working with now and I love the classic look and the combination of the black and machined parts:

I've been looking through literally hundreds of different wheels as the selection these days is mostly very bro-dozer and tasteless. I understand that a lot of you guys are still stuck on hubcaps and steel wheels so not all of my options might be your cup 'o joe but that's not the look I want for my truck. I'm looking something slightly old school with a modern flare, something slightly aggressive but still tasteful, something almost understated. Aka the perfect wheel (if there is such a thing)
Also I don't want all black wheels, I find them to have been overdone now and they blend in with the tire and make it look like one big black blob. But I like having black accents as it pulls it contrasts with the white paint and pulls in the black bumpers and such.

1. Ion Alloy 171 (same wheels as I have now but in a 17x9)

2. MB Wheels 352 (These are like a newer take on steel D window wheels which I like)

3. American Racing AR902. There's a guy locally that has these on a white Ram and they look pretty awesome.

4. Eagle Alloy 1372. (I LOVE these but i think they've been discontinued and can't find them in stock anywhere)

5. Eagle Alloy 1852 (Very similar to my current Ions but with a simulated bead lock)

6. Gear Alloy Trek 749MB

7. Mickey Thompson Classic Baja Lock (Again pretty similar to my current Ions and the Eagle 1852s)

8. Method Race Wheels MR305 (These are also fairly reminiscent of the old school D window wheels)

9. Ultra Wheel Nomad 194GN (I had these exact wheels on my old Tahoe and I really like them. The gray inserts matched the paint very well though for my K10 I might paint the inserts black to match the bumpers and other black accents) I've been kicking my self for selling the truck with these wheels and tires on it :doah:

10. Walker Evans Racing Legacy 504MB (Again these are like the old school D windows again)

I liked the 1372, maybe something similar if available

I like white spoked wheels, but had problems finding them on the correct load range when I did the same last year

Finally went with a steel wheel with the through holes and painted white. Hope this helps

I like 6 I've actually never seen them pretty sharp and understated. With wheels I feel less is more IMHO

I vote 4, 6 or 9
Depends on the what is available .

Random thought - any of these have low weight ratings? I’ve seen that before where some brands/designs/etc just have pretty low weight ratings vs others.

Not a big fan of any of those on a square. Are you able to get the correct offset on all of those?

Thats a good point. Ill have to double check. Although it's not much of a concern for me as my stepside doesn't do any heavy lifting anymore. And its pretty light as it sits, roughly 4500lbs.

That was a concern of mine and all of these have a slightly negative offset of -6 to -2 so they range from 4.25-4.75" of backspacing. My current wheels are 4.25" backspacing. The picture are shown are all stock photos so in reality the looks of the actual wheel in the size and offset may be quite a bit different.

The KMC Addicts aren’t terrible and American Racing Outlaws. I like those M/T’s too.

2-8-10, kind of all the same?
I'm not a big fan of black or grey wheels....just my .02

I would have to find a website with a wheel visualizer or something like that, then you know exactly what they look like.

I can check to see if those Eagles are still available today. let me know.

I like the American Racing AR969 with the polished face. (I know thats not one you listed, but may be worth a look)
